OVERVIEW

Unrated Practice Tournaments are a great way for students to get involved in tournament competition. These are low stress events where CCC staff replicate the tournament setting for students. There is no better place to start competing than our unrated tournaments. 

This event is a qualifier for the Tournament of Champions, an invitation only event held on December 14, 2024. See more below.

BASICS

• Must be in Pre K - 8th Grade

• This event is primarily for unrated players.

• Players with US Chess ratings under 300 may compete

• Players with US Chess ratings 300+ should enter rated events

Suggested Arrival Time: 9:45am

Round 1: 10:00 am

Round 2: ASAP

Round 3: ASAP

Approximate end time: 11:30am - 11:45am

Players receive 10 minutes each to complete the game.

PRIZES

All Students Receive a Medal. Medals Distributed Based on Score in the Tournament:

• Gold Medal: 2.5 - 3.0 points

• Silver Medal: 1.5 - 2.0 points

• Bronze Medal: 0.0 - 0.5, or 1 point

All Gold Medalists Receive:

• FREE US Chess membership

• FREE Entry to Tournament Learning Experience (TLE)

• Invitation to Tournament of Champions (TOC)

Non-members: $30.00
