WFM UTHRA PAKKIRISWAMY

Uthra is a Women FIDE Master and FIDE Instructor-  born and raised in Chennai, India. Currently the no.1 ranked women player in South Carolina.

She started playing chess at the age of 6 in a summer camp along with her sister and started to take chess seriously. She has represented India in various Asian Youth and World Youth Championships.

Uthra has a USCF rating of 2013 and had a peak FIDE rating of 2114. She became the U-17 National Champion when she was just 14 years old. And went on to become the Asian U-17 Champion too. She moved to the US in 2016. She has been into teaching for the past 6 years.

She has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. She lives in Fort Mill, SC along with her two kids and husband.
