MARIO PINEDA-BERMUDEZ

Mario has been a dedicated tournament chess player since his first event in 2015 and is now a Class A player with a peak US Chess rating of 1874. He started his high school and university chess clubs, gaining experience leading new players to become stronger competitors, as well as directing tournaments.

Mario has years of experience as an instructor both for scholastic and adult students in PA, NY and now in Charlotte. He is bilingual (English/Spanish), an Eagle Scout, and a certified Chess Merit Badge Counselor.

Mario enjoys watching and playing soccer, and he graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing (2021).
