Tuesday the 9th was a chaotic day for many Charlotteans, as the passing storm brought high winds and heavy rains, causing some cancellations and outages around Metrolina. But there was no stopping the CCC's Tuesday Night Action! A total of 38 competitors gathered for one round of USCF standard-rated chess, with the top two sections also FIDE-rated.
The TNA is held at the Main/South Center every Tuesday evening, with one standard-rated game per week. The round two winners were as follows:
Top: Anagha Sinkar, Shawn Bale, and Shravan Dash
U1750: Mario Pineda-Bermudez, Joshua Garber, Debs Pedigo, Charles Cameron, Brent Jenkins, Sanjay Gopalan, Mike Day, and Charlie Manolakis
U1300: Joshua Wakefield, Brian Lara, Shlok Kaushik, Jesse Nestorick, and Aaron Vargas
In the top section, Anagha Sinkar is the only player with 2/2, having won in both weeks so far this month. Mario Pineda-Bermudez, Joshua Garber, and Debs Pedigo are each on 2/2 in the U1750 section, and the two players with two points in the U1300 are Joshua Wakefield and Brian Lara.
The next Tuesday Night Action will be held on January 16. We hope to see you there! In the meantime, remember you can always submit games to be featured in these reports using the link below, or the QR code at the Chess Center.
