On January 17, 2024, the Charlotte Chess Center hosted the weekly Tuesday Night Action at the Main/South location. A total of 44 competitors gathered for one round of USCF standard-rated chess, with the top two sections also FIDE-rated.
The TNA is held at the Main/South Center every Tuesday evening, with one standard-rated game per week. The round three winners were as follows:
Top: Patrick McCartney, Shravan Dash, and Smayan Ammasani
U1750: Mario Pineda-Bermudez, Joshua Garber, Mike Day, Sattwick Dutta, and Daniel Burkhart
U1300: Joshua Wakefield, Nilai Gummi, Joshua Rubanenko, Nandhan Gummi, Kevin Nguyen, Neil Harit, Douglas Samson, Neal Woodruff, and Aidan Lund
In the top section, Anagha Sinkar was the only player with 2/2 after last week, but didn't play this time around, so there are no players with a perfect 3/3 this month. In the U1750, both Mario Pineda-Bermudez and Joshua Garber have won in each TNA of the new year so far, and the same goes for Joshua Wakefield in the U1300. We'll see if any of those three players can maintain that perfect record through all five Tuesday Night Action rounds this month!
