The 44th edition of the Charlotte Chess Center's Sunday Action Quads tournament took place at the CCC's Main/South location on March 3, 2024. SAQ is a three-round scholastic chess tournament open to all players K-12. This edition saw five sections and 22 total players participating.
The following players finished in first place in their respective quads:
Quad A: Daniel Wojszczyk (3 points)
Quad B: Anirudh Prasanna (3 points)
Quad C: Saket Kumbhar and Taksheel Dandu (2 points)
Quad D: Kaushal Dalal and Charles-Darius Roulin (2.5 points)
Quad E (six players): John Smith (3 points)
Daniel Wojszczyk has finished with a 3/3 score in two SAQs in a row, increasing his rating to 1286! Anirudh Prasanna also achieved a new peak rating for his 3/3 performance, and John Smith posted a perfect score in his first rated tournament ever. All perfect scorers in grades K-8 are qualified for the NEW Tournament of Champions event, scheduled for May 4, 2024.
