The Charlotte Chess Center hosted our weekly Friday Action Quads event on February 23, 2024 at the Main/South location. A total of 32 players attended across eight quads.
Friday Action Quads is a USCF-rated scholastic chess tournament open to all players K-12. The following players finished atop their respective quads:
Quad A: Neil Harit (2.5 points)
Quad B: Cole Putnam (3 points)
Quad C: Steven Hook (2 points)
Quad D: Samuel Price and Temir Alimov (2 points)
Quad E: Akul Gowdru and Murali Kongot (2 points)
Quad F: Arnav Nekkalapudi (3 points)
Quad G: Christopher Miller (3 points)
Quad H: Austin Martin (3 points)
Cole Putnam has now won Quad B two weeks in a row! Additionally, several players posted big rating gains, including Arnav Nekkalapudi (789 -> 889) and Christopher Miller (525 -> 615). All players K-8 who achieve perfect scores in an FAQ tournament are qualified for our NEW Tournament of Champions scheduled for May 4, 2024.
