REGISTER

OVERVIEW

A three round US Chess-rated tournament open to all scholastic (K-12) players. Quads, which group students in sections of 4 by their rating level, are a great way for students to get closer matchups for a more fun and competitive challenge.


This event is a qualifier for the Tournament of Champions, an invitation only event to be held in the Spring of 2025. Players who score 3/3 in their quad qualify to participate in the TOC.

REGISTRATION

Limited to first 62 to register. Registration must be completed online ahead of the event.



REQUIREMENTS

  • Ages 17 and under

  • Participants must be members of the US Chess Federation

  • US Chess is the governing body of chess in the US and conducts all of the rating calculations for players. Need a US Chess Membership? Purchase through the CCC and save!

ROUND TIMES

Round 1: 7:00pm 

Round 2: ASAP

Round 3: ASAP

Approximate End Time: 9:00pm



TIME CONTROL

G/20; Increment 10

Each player receives 20 minutes plus a 10 second bonus each move to complete each game



HOW IT WORKS

  • Players must register weekly and in advance 

  • 3 US Chess regular and quick rated games every Friday night

  • Quad format - students placed into groups of 4 by their most current "live" US Chess regular rating to ensure closer matchups.

  • Each evening will be limited to the first 62 players to register 

  • Entries are first registered, first served

  • Quads are for students (K-12) only

  • IMPROVE - Game Analysis and Blitz with CCC Head Coach, WFM Uthra Pakkiriswamy

TOC QUALIFIER

  • Must register weekly - first registered, first served

  • Great for students playing their first rated games

  • For more events including online options, please take a look at our event schedule

  • Quad players are not permitted to withdraw mid-event.  Forfeiters will not be able to enter future CCC events.

  • Free Entry Policy

    • Free entry is offered to players who have a current live USCF rating of 1500+. No exceptions.

    • If you register for free but must cancel, email us to withdraw by 6:00pm - 1 hour before game.

  • Refund policy

    • $3 transaction fee until Thursday (one day before the event)

    • $5 transaction fee for same-day cancellations until 6:00pm

    • No refund for cancellations after 6:00pm
