OVERVIEW

The Charlotte Open Blitz is a 6 round blitz event held alongside the 2025 Charlotte Open, featuring a $1,000 guaranteed prize fund!  Blitz tournament entry is open to all players, and free for Charlotte Open players.

SCHEDULE

  • Sunday, January 19

  • Register on-site by 8:15pm.  Entries after 8:15pm receive a round 1 bye.

  • Blitz round 1 starts 8:30pm, rounds 2-6 are ASAP.

  • Tournament ends around 10:30pm.



REGISTRATION

  • On-site blitz registration only.  No online or emailed registration.

    • Free for players who are playing in the Charlotte Open.

    • Register in person, 4:00-8:15pm on Sunday, January 19.

    • $30 for others.  Register in person, 4:00-8:15pm on Sunday, January 19.

  • US Chess membership required for all players.

  • Registration after 8:15pm will incur a round 1 bye.
